This well run, and financially stable regional building contractor has a full order book for 2021, and is looking to expand its team accordingly.
The company carries out new build, & large refurbishments across a range of sectors up to a project value of circa £7m. Sectors include commercial, residential, education, sport & leisure and automotive.
They have an immediate need for an experienced No1 Site Manager to manage a car dealership project in Southend, Essex. The value is £1.5m, and the work comprises of part demolition, refurbishment and new build steel frame extension to the existing facility. There will also be an element of externals works to the car-park, with associated groundworks. This would suit someone that is perhaps lacking career progression with their current employer, and is looking for that next step up in their career. Full support will be available from very experienced and dynamic company directors.
The site manager will take the job from start to finish and will be expected to be a "proper" stand-alone No1 on site; looking after the following:
Managing day to day activities on site of the site team and sub-contractors
Sub-contract and material procurement
Health & Safety
Progress reports and site meetings
Programming - long and short term
Liaison with the design team, M&E consultants, project architect, structural engineer and building control
The ideal site manager must / have:
CSCS (Black or Gold), SMSTS and First Aid at Work
Have a proven track record of new build / refurb projects at a similar project value
