Design Manager - Main Contractor
- £75K / Year
£70k-£75k plus package
One of London's Construction Main Contractors, have just secured a £40m commercial office refurbishment, kicking off this year, which requires a Design Manager to join their team. It's a 2 year project in Central London, you would be joining early stages, as they've just won the tender so will be part of a new team driving everything forward.
Regular meetings with the production team and ensuring all technical issues are addressed immediately
Manage and coordinate external consultants
Prepare technical specifications
Liaise with key personnel within the project team in preparation of project costing and design works
Control the design process, from planning application through to project completion
Ensure consultants prepare the detailed design by Employers Requirement and Contractors Proposals
Manage the BREEAM process
Manage and review the design development process ensuring value engineering and buildability are considered
Set up information registers and ensure information control is following all relevant procedures
Review design development to allow construction of works to follow safe working practices
3 years experience of working for a similar size reputable Main Contracting construction company is desirable
Strong organisational and time management skills it takes to deliver work on time and on budget.
Ideally have a recognised qualification in Architecture or Engineering.
Knowledge and experience of BIM.
Ideally knowledge of 4P.
Proven planning and process management skills.
Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
