Our client, who are a family run company that specialises in high end refurbishments, extensions and new builds, all projects ranging up to £10m. are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Nearly approaching 30 years of trading, they have a proven track record and solid reputation in this field.
With further projects starting this year and currently 15 live projects, their company are growing from strength to strength. Your role would be to work closely with the Commercial Director, who will provide you on-going training and support to push you in your career, based between head offices and on site in London.
Your New Role
• Collaborating with the project management team to facilitate the delivery of our developments
• Assist with pricing of construction works as well as assessing the legitimacy and the assessment of the value of instructions
• Obtain prices from specialist sub-contractor
• Provide all necessary information in order to obtain the correct cash input
• Assist in managing the projects from land purchase to disposal in a diligent manner
• Carry out project variations assessments and assist in assessing the impact of proposed variations.
• Provide Line Manager with information for Client Report.
• Produce bill of quantity/activity schedule for payment purposes.
What you will need to succeed
• Basic understanding of project management, construction procedures and principles
• 2-3 years' experience working in the construction sector, ideally working on high-end projects
• Quantity Surveying related degree or qualification
• Working to challenging time frames in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a strong attention to detail while being able to prioritise your workload effectively
