I could go on but if you have read this far and you wanted to look at a new opportunity, then this fantastic career role for a Contracts Manager, has arisen with a specialist contractor in the high end residential / super prime sector. It might just tick all the boxes for you.
This is a 10-year-old, £25m turnover contractor, that work on complex and challenging residential refurbishment contracts (traditional contracts NOT Design & Build|) for end users. They have secured a full order book until the end of 2022 with further contracts going in to 2023, and require a contracts manager to join them on this exciting journey.
Typically, the Contracts Manager will be expected to manage only 2 projects at any one time, allowing exacting attention to detail, absolute commitment, and a pro-active approach.
The schemes are generally valued between £2m and £8m in areas such as Chelsea, Notting Hill, Kensington and Mayfair. They they have recently secured a £10m refurbishment / fit-out project in Holland Park, a £10m fit-out and basement construction of a 13,500 sq.ft property in Chelsea and a £7m fit-out in Eaton Square. They are busy!
The successful candidate will be a fully-fledged contracts manager, with recent experience of prime central London traditional refurbishment projects. Must be strong on contractual awareness, liaising with architects and generally very strong on handling the flow of information to site. Time spent with previous employers is a big appeal.
Typical responsibilities include:
All aspects of Programming (Asta or Microsoft Projects)
Planning and Site Logistics
Health & Safety planning
Liaising with Clients, Architects and all Design Team members
Collaborating with Architects and Designers Working Drawings, Client Approvals etc.
Managing and motivating Staff and Site Teams
Client Development and liaison
Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate successful delivery on similar super prime London residential refurbishments as a Contract Manager.
