This Family-run business offers clients a complete restoration and conservation service, to buildings and prized interiors and cherished possessions. The work is a mixture of insurance jobs, private commissions and specialist work for main contractors.
The Role:
There is an immediate requirement for a Head of Projects to work in a successful growing business that focuses on its people, and effectively support and develop the skills of a Team of Project Managers.
With approximately 80 live jobs (nationwide) at any one time, and up to 4 projects managers overseeing around 20 jobs each, this is a demanding yet fulfilling role. Average value of each job is circa £30,000 and works could range from fire or flood damage, heritage plaster, specialist floor sanding, to chandelier / top of the range piano restoration in a stately home or high-end property.
The role requires someone to lead the team of up to 4 project managers (who are generally on the road 3 days a week visiting sites and clients, and in the office 2 days a week). Each Project Manager is paired with an assistant project manager (desk based) so when they are on the fly they have someone that can deal with the info, calls, admin, applications and resource allocation.
The Person:
·Must be client facing, well-presented and be an excellent communicator with high-net worth individuals (often Lords and ladies).
·Would suit someone that has an interest (and ideally some previous experience in restoration, heritage work and history with a sub-contractor or contractor.
Example Job Duties:
·Orchestrate full lifecycle of High-end residential and commercial projects concurrently
·Optimise allocation of materials and human resources, assigning jobs and selecting appropriate equipment, tools, materials, and suppliers.
·Liaison between clients, contractors, regulatory agents, and public.
·Complete skill set in safety inspections, site reports / designs / drawings analysis, and implementation of quality control procedures.
·Subcontractor negotiations while maintaining quality, timeliness, and safety of deliverables.
·Monitor performance of project managers and their sites; ensuring adherence to client requirements / specifications, regulations, and cost controls.
·Play a part in new business development by ensuring top client satisfaction, loyalty, and referrals.
·Reporting, contract negotiations, permits, and licenses.
This position can also be referred to as a Construction Manager, Contracts Manager, Operations Manager, Head of Contracts and Head of Projects.
