An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Services Manager to work on some very high profile residential and CAT A / Cat B fit out schemes in London with a main contractor,

With the most modern of M&E installations, The Technical Services Manager will also need to demonstrate extensive mechanical expertise in, have a good understanding of design and able to build relationships with sub-contractors

The main duties will include the following:

·Commissioning on HVAC
·Lead the M&E elements
·Attend project meetings and produce reports. Build relationships with clients/contractors as part of the team.
·Attend meetings with designers, specialist contractors and internal teams
·Review of designs to ensure compliance to specification
·Review, assess and select M&E sub-contractors
·Co-ordination of M&E sub-contractors, consultants and local authorities
·On site review and management of building services installation to ensure contract compliance
·Ensure health and safety policy is adhered during project duration

The Building Services Manager position will suit candidates' who are hands on, with a minimum 10 years' M&E experience, ideally with a main contractor, and have a minimum of HNC/HND qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.

My client is famously known for creating award-winning homes, working on a variety of developments from countryside homes, city apartments, and traditional family homes to mixed-used schemes! Due to their growth and expansion they are now looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team!

You'd be joining a strong Commercial Team, to be based out of their head offices in Essex and required to travel to sites in East London. You'd have the opportunity to join their flagship regeneration site, which has just commenced, transforming a derelict site into a new vibrant destination. It's the 2nd largest housing scheme in the UK to gain planning permission, and delivering over 3000 homes. The first phase will deliver nearly 700 homes, railway station, medical centre, primary school and children play areas. It's an exciting project that will allow you to develop your skills, as it's due to finish in 20 years, which allows time for you to grow with the business.

Some of the key duties you will undertake as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor are:
• Preparing trade scope and works
• Preparing selected tender list for approval
• Collation and issue of subcontract tenders
• Prepare subcontractors appointment and proposal documents
• Preparing subcontract documentation for signing by both parties
• Certifying subcontractor payments
• Producing subcontractor instruction/variation reports
• Preparing final account with subcontractors
• Assisting with Surveyors' monthly cost reports
• Attending Design Team Meetings as required
• Attending subcontractor progress meetings as required
• Assisting in production of contractual letters to subcontractors when requested
• Assisting Project team with financial implications of site progress decisions
• Scheduling of directly procured materials to assist buying department
• Measurement of elements incorporated into designs to establish value and extent of works
• Assist Commercial department with compliance to business core objectives

A Assistant Surveyor applying for this role will have they key attributes below, among others:
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within construction
• Motivated with a positive can do' attitude
• Good organisational skills
• Professional approach and high level of discretion.
• Team player, willing to learn and get involved with a wide range of tasks
• Ability to work on own initiative and generate solutions.
• Highly IT literate, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
