Our client is a highly respected refurbishment contractor that is seeking a Project Manager to head up a £6m project.

The works comprise demolition of a 1-storey reception, and construction of a new two storey entrance building and multi-purpose space. The open plan entrance will flow into a new student hub and dining area, interfacing with other key areas of the education facility including a theatre, student services and an employability hub.

The Project Manager will be supported by a site manager, and must have good all-round building experience that covers groundworks, foundations, piling, metal clad, glass etc. and fit-out.

Project Manager Job duties:

•Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook and Word
•Knowledge and experience in use of Project Planning/Programme Techniques
•Ability to prepare a 2-week look-ahead programme
•Ability to prioritise, plan, schedule and evaluate works
•Focused on timely completion of project and systematic completion of snagging
•Arrange and manage site sub-contractor co-ordination meetings and record meeting minutes
•A good practical understanding of Health & Safety requirements on site, including specific items such as experience in scaffold inspection, where appropriate.
•Minimum of 5 years' experience in the role of No. 1Project Manager
•Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
•Be innovative, proactive and committed to the project
•Very good communication skills
•Experienced in completing works to high quality standards

Qualifications:
•Full First Aid at Work (which must be current and must be valid for a minimum of 6 months)
•Asbestos Awareness Certificate
•CSCS Card (Gold or Black)
•5 Day CITB Site Manager's Certificate (SMSTS)

An award-winning contractor has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to take on a new build residential scheme of 35no units near Bexley, Kent.

The company is looking for someone with a proven track record as a No1 project manager (not a site manager) on similar sized schemes.

The project:
·The project is on the site of a former swimming pool (now closed) which has partially been knocked down, with further demolition and temporary works to follow.
·There are buildings either side of the site, and the main works comprise of the construction of a large basement for a gym and 35no apartments above.
·5-storey concrete frame to make up 1, 2 and 3 bed flats.
·Circa 10 weeks of demolition, and with over 200 piles, there will be approx.. 6/8 months of concrete work.
·18 months duration

Skills / Experience required:
·Reporting directly to the Construction Director, the Project Manager is expected to be heavily involved in the contract element of the development
·A minimum of 5 years' Project Management experience
·Commercially aware
·High level of practical knowledge of relevant employment, Health and Safety and general legislative Requirements
·Excellent Leader with strong communication skills
·Responsible for management of programing and contractual risk
·Adheres to the highest standards of health and safety
·Planning and organisational skills
·Proven longevity with previous employers
·Proven track record of managing projects from start to completion

1pm to 8-9pm or 6.00-18.00 (Negotiable)

Qualifications:
HGV License would be advantageous as it will allow you to move the lorries into the bays or general knowledge of driving a lorry on private land.
