They have planning for additional floors, so will create the shell for residential apartments. Site Manager | Structural Site Manager | Commercial Heavy Refurbishment
Permanent | Start ASAP
Central London
Salary negotiable - circa £55,000 - £70,000 + Package

This 20-year-old, circa £20m turnover London based reputable main contractor, offer and deliver a complete building service to their clients; from traditional construction through to design and build and turnkey solutions, across a range of sectors including residential, healthcare, industrial, education, heritage and retail and leisure.

They predominantly carry out structural alterations, refurbishment and fit-out projects up to circa £10m and predominantly do most of the heavy structural work (concrete and steel) in house with their own in labour.

The Position:
The company has an immediate requirement for a No1 Structures Site Manager to take a £3m structural refurb project from start to finish. The scheme comprises a lot of steel work; the existing building (built in the 80's - steel frame) is being completely gutted out. The building itself is used as a hotel above and the ground floor is a very high-end retail store. 22 columns to be removed, and the client wants it all open plan, but still needs to hold up the floors above. The work will involve considerable propping up with new steels going in, so needs someone with extensive structural experience and knowledge of steel frame.
The company has an experienced visiting Project Manager dealing with the day to day programme, client and design etc. so this would suit a structures site manager, very much a builder who enjoys being out on site with the day to day management of a job like this.

Qualifications:
•Full First Aid at Work
•Asbestos Awareness Certificate (ideally)
•CSCS Card
•5 Day CITB Site Manager's Certificate (SMSTS)
